Got der seeds in der ground, yesterday...

One solitary hump of mammoth-pumpkin-dedicated Earth.

Planted 6-8 seeds, 6" apart, as directed by seed envelope.

Will take a photo once it's more than just a humpy mound of dirt.

I expect that it will contrast against any of your photographs,
because everything is already surrounded by bleached blonde grass.
(well, that and the obv. distinction that I'm not great at weeding...)

It was a DRY spring, and the grass has been poke-y,
seeds jamming into our socks, for weeks, now.

I WISH we had summer rains--they were a delight, my first summer in Michigan.

Anyhow, looking forward to seeing your updates,
and promise to furnish visuals next time. =)
