Minnesota here -- last check has Fat Max at a circumference of 58 inches, roughly 18 inches in diameter. Also have littler contestants coming on strong -- Little Max, Weird Max, Punky Max, etc. Fat Max is WAYYYY ahead though.
Good article on the biochar. Will have to incorporate next year.
Saw today that the current world record for a pumpkin is 2,009 pounds. We won't be a threat to that number.

Apparently, we in Fire Country were too busy dealing with country fire to read or reply to this blog at that time. =) Now that it's late November, we're fine, and Mr. Fabulous made some extra $ (& lost a lot of sleep) on the Rim Fire, all that after we'd been evacuated from our own home 'cause of a much smaller & much closer fire earlier in the summer.
