I realize if I propose this for this year, I will be overruled/pitched from the competition entirely, but I submit folks need to grow their pumpkins in the state of their residence. =)
And county.
And town.
Preferably at their house.
You know, the way most people grow stuff in their own garden.
I understand, however, if some are entirely lacking suitable sun exposure on their lot (and neighborhood rules prohibit gigantic pumpkin growing on the lawn/driveway/sidewalk),
they may need to move a bit.
Somewhere not too far, still within the county, onto a non-commercial plot, that's fine.
As long as they are still the primary care-giver to said pumpkins.
As in N.D., watering by proxy is fine.
Cause I'm nice, that way.
I didn't realize this wasn't the case until I learned of the
three patches of pumpkins growing on the farm
(under the kind and even-handed care of Aunt J).
Three, thought I? Why three? Only 2 folks I know live there...
And then I figured it out.
And then I thought, "Hm...."
Doesn't seem right.
I COULD have a friend plant my pumpkins in Arizona in February...
Scanned images of participants' 2011 tax returns
showing their primary residence will be acceptable proof of residence.
=)
Thoughts?
Angry rebuttal?
Ringing endorsement?
Silent grudges?
Whatevs?
Sincerely and humbly yours,
bb/moi
